Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) lifecycle status — the real story
Check Point security gateway appliances are the hardware under Gaia OS: the Enterprise 2200 to 7000 and 9x00 series, the High End 12000 to 28600 and 19x00/29x00 series, the QLS/MLS Lightspeed appliances, the Scalable Platforms (41000/44000/61000/64000 chassis, their SSM and SGM modules and the Maestro MHO orchestrators), the Spark small-business appliances (600 to 2000 series) and the ruggedised 1200R and 15x0R. Cycles on this page are appliance models, so it is the hardware companion to the Check Point Gaia software page: the exploited CVEs that put Check Point gateways in CISA's KEV catalog (CVE-2024-24919 and the 2026 entries) are software CVEs and are tracked there, but they run on these boxes. Every date comes from the Appliances Support tab of Check Point's own Support Life Cycle Policy page (public, no login, static HTML), read twice on 2026-10-11.
Field mapping, in Check Point's own words from that tab: support is the End of Engineering Support date (Engineering Support: Maintenance releases are supplied until 3 three years after End of Sale Date); eol is the End of Support date (End of support: Software upgrades and bug fixes will be supplied until 5 five years after End of Sale Date to handle support issues; RMA process will be available until 5 five years after End of Sale Date or until the official End of Support Date Announcement, whichever is earlier). The End of Sale date, the General Availability date (served as releaseDate), the successor model and its availability, the vendor status (Active, Successor Product Available) and the supported software versions cell are carried as extra fields.
A precision note the schema forces us to state: Check Point prints these milestones at month precision (Dec-2025, Oct-2031) with no day convention. This page records a month as its first day, the conservative reading already used for Check Point Gaia (never overstating remaining support by up to 30 days), and keeps the vendor cell verbatim in data/month-precision-rules.json. Where Check Point prints an exact day (21600: 31-Oct-2014, 31-Oct-2017, 31-Oct-2019; 1200R: 31-Dec-2020, 31-Dec-2023, 31-Dec-2025; 1570R general availability 17-Jun-2020; 1595R 19-Sep-2023) that day is served.
The dates that matter now. The 5100, 5200, 5400, 5600, 5900, 6500, 6800, 15400, 15600, 23500, 23800 and 23900 appliances and the 3100 and 3200 all reached End of Support in December 2025 (engineering support ended June 2024); the 5800 in September 2025; the 910 Spark appliance in August 2026; the MHO-170 Maestro orchestrator in July 2026; the 1200R ruggedised appliance on 31 December 2025. The 16000 ends in March 2027. The whole 6200 to 7000 series, the 16200, 16600 HS, 26000, 28000, 28600 HS, QLS250 to QLS800 and MLS200/MLS400 leave sale in October 2026 and reach End of Support in October 2031; the 3600 and 3800 in February 2032; the Spark 1530 to 1590 and 1570R in January 2030; the Spark 1535 to 1595, 1600, 1800, 1900 and 2000 in March 2032; the 44000 and 64000 chassis with their SSM440 and SGM400 modules in January 2029. The current 9100 to 9800, 19100, 19200, 29100, 29200, 3920 to 3980, MHO-140/175, Spark 2530 to 2590 and the 1575R/1595R carry no end dates, which the EOS Edge Device feed reports as no date announced.
Scope: the same tab also lists Smart-1 management appliances, Threat Emulation private cloud appliances, DDoS Protector (Radware-built), and the retired UTM-1, Power-1, DLP-1, IP, VSX-1, Connectra, IPS-1, IP VPN, IAS and Safe@ lines; those are deliberately not modelled here (see the batch SKIPPED.md). Under CISA BOD 26-02 every appliance past its End of Support date is an end-of-support edge device regardless of the Gaia release it runs.
Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) release and support pattern
Across the 114 release lines with a published release date, Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) has shipped a new line roughly every 1 weeks (median interval). A line typically stays supported for about 9.5 years from its release to its end-of-life date (measured on the 89 lines with both dates published).
Of the 114 release lines tracked, 52 are past end of life and 62 are still within support. The newest line, 2200, was released October 1, 2011. The next scheduled end of life is 16000 on March 1, 2027 — 140 days from this build. The longest-supported line currently published is 2000, to March 1, 2032.
Computed from the tracked release data at every build — the figures above are the dates in the table, restated, not an editorial estimate.
What does Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) end of life mean for your organization?
When a version of Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) reaches end of life, the maintainers stop issuing security patches. Vulnerabilities discovered after this date are publicly disclosed on the National Vulnerability Database, exploit code appears on GitHub, and your systems remain permanently exposed.
The CVE blind spot: A CVE-based scan does not show the accumulation of unpatched vulnerabilities in EOL software. Some scanners flag unsupported versions of common products, but coverage varies, and none of them give you the date in advance. With a zero-day, nobody knows about the vulnerability. With EOL software, the vulnerability is public — listed, rated, and often weaponized — but no vendor patch is coming. This is one of the most dangerous gaps in enterprise security posture.
Organizations running EOL Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) should treat it as a vulnerability class in their risk register, apply compensating controls (network segmentation, enhanced monitoring, access restriction), and prioritize migration to a supported version.
Your options when Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) reaches end of life
There are four realistic paths. Which one is right depends far more on how long the system needs to keep running than on the version you are on today.
| Option | Best when | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Move to a supported version | The system will outlive the current version's support window and you can schedule the work | Budget for compatibility testing, not just the upgrade itself — that is where the real cost sits |
| Replace the component | The project is unmaintained, or a better-supported alternative exists | The replacement has its own lifecycle and its own end-of-life date — you are changing vendors, not escaping the problem |
| Buy extended support | Migration is genuinely underway but cannot finish before the deadline, or the workload is frozen by certification or a third-party application | A bridge, not a destination — every year purchased is a year the migration still has to happen |
| Document accepted risk | The system is isolated, short-lived, or scheduled for retirement | Only defensible with real compensating controls and a written decision — auditors treat undocumented end-of-life software as a finding |
How to choose, in one question: how many more years does this system need to run? Under a year, extended support (where it exists) is usually cheaper than an emergency migration. One to three years, migrate — support purchased repeatedly costs more than doing the project once, and the project only gets harder as the version ages. Indefinitely, migrate now and plan the next migration before it surprises you.
Worth saying plainly, because vendors selling extended support rarely will: extended support is often the more expensive choice over a multi-year horizon. It is the right answer when a deadline is genuinely unreachable, not as a default. Compare the annual fee against the one-time cost of migrating before committing to either.

Extended Support Options
If you cannot migrate immediately, extended support vendors provide continued security patches for EOL Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) versions. This is a bridge, not a permanent solution — plan your migration in parallel.
Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) has 52 versions past end of life — security patches have stopped, but CVE disclosures haven't. Extended support past the official date exists for many products in this position — whether it exists for Check Point security gateway appliances (hardware) is exactly what we check. Tell us where to reach you and we'll reply with matched options and pricing guidance — or an honest "no vendor covers this."
